Why Participate in a Trial?

You will contribute to the development of a cure

Each time we take a medication, we benefit from years of medical research.  Participation in clinical trials gives you an opportunity to help many people whose condition might be helped by the new medication.

You may be one of the first to receive a new, more advanced medication

New medications are results of many years of advanced research.  They are designed to treat medical conditions more effectively.  Participation in clinical trials may give you an opportunity to try out new treatments that may not yet be available to the general public. Investigational drugs are also free of charge for participants.

You will receive free study-related medical examination and health monitoring

As you participate in clinical trials, your health will be evaluated by experienced staff of doctors and nurses.  Depending on the study, you may also undergo advanced diagnostic tests, which will be provided to you free of charge.  This is, of course, not a substitute for regular health care.  Nonetheless, results of study-related examinations and tests may provide additional information to you and your primary physician.

You will receive financial compensation

In most studies, you will receive a stipend to compensate you for your time and travel expenses.
